Hi, I'm Kirby.
I am a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) registered Counsellor working in Hartlepool, Teesside and the North of England. I have a BA (Hons) Undergraduate Degree in Therapeutic Counselling and began my counselling journey in 2013.
I would describe myself as an Integrative Counsellor. This means that I do not have any one way of working with individuals. I instead listen to what you need from counselling and how you think I might be able to help you.
On a more personal note, I am not only a Counsellor. I am a daughter, mother, wife, friend. The list goes on. I like to spend time with friends and family, watch murder programmes and read books. I am a real person and I have real life experiences. This does not make me an expert but I do feel that it helps me when working with individuals. I am an expert in my own life and you are an expert in yours. If you do make the decision to go ahead with counselling sessions with myself I am not going to give you all the answers. That is not my job it's yours. Instead i'm here to help you to navigate life's problems in a way that will work for you and come to your own conclusions. I can just listen or I can be more challenging. I can make suggestions but ultimately, you know what might best work for you. We work together, I appreciate openness and honest and you will get that in return from me. I'm not here to judge you or have an opinion. I'm here to help.
If you have any questions, or want to have a chat to decide whether I might be the right Counsellor for you feel free to get in touch with no pressure to go ahead.
